Description

Assistant Payroll Manager supports the payroll department by ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. Assistant Payroll Manager may also assist with training and managing payroll staff, and work as a backup for the payroll manager.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Implement and promote the highest level of customer service from the Payroll Team to customers.
  • Support payroll processes, audits and reconciliation.
  • Review timesheets, PTO accruals and other data integration for accuracy.
  • Review payroll folders for organized payroll documentation, record keeping, and reports.
  • Work closely with UKG.
  • Work closely with CompenSafe – Commission Software System.
  • Work closely with ADP for our Joint Venture Companies.
  • Work with our HR partners, the finance department, & Managers to ensure payroll related items and proper process flow are followed.
  • Work with our HR partners, Internal Auditors, & compliance teams providing detailed payroll records for all audit requests.
  • Payroll Manager will train Assistant Payroll Manager on providing accurate gross payroll numbers to the executive committee and finance team.
  • Support and ensure proper payroll audits are taking place by each team member.
  • Work with Payroll Manager to provide the Executive Management Team with their reports in a timely manager.
  • Prepare manual checks as necessary.
  • Respond to escalated routine inquiries concerning payroll.
  • Process Garnishments.
  • Support Payroll Manager to assist, develop, & implement payroll practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Always limit company risk and liability.
  • Support Payroll Manager in special company projects as needed.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Minimum 5 years’ Payroll experience.
  • Experience with ADP and/or UKG (UltiPro & Kronos) Software.
  • Experience with variable compensation plans preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of products; Excel, Word, Access and windows environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Multistate Payroll Processing is required.
  • Time and Attendance Experience.
  • Payroll Tax Experience.
  • Processing of W2’s and W2C’s.
  • Confidentiality and Integrity is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Biweekly Pay Frequency.

PHYSICAL and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

 

This role operates in an ADA compliant office environment, utilizing typical office equipment and tasks including computer work. The position may involve partial stationary positions and moving throughout the day. Flexibility to work overtime to meet project deadlines is required.

 

CMG pays a competitive salary which ranges from $80,000 to $120,000. Factors that affect salary may include: Payroll experience, mortgage, HR experience, knowledge of mortgage industry, computer skills, customer service experience, and education.
